William Louis "Bill" Wood, 89, of Stanford passed away at his home on Saturday, February 11, 2023.  Born September 4, 1933, he was the son of the late James and Bernice Moore Wood.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Junior, Bobby and Lawrence Wood; and sister, Virginia Curtsinger.

Bill was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  He had retired from Malone Hyde where he drove a truck for grocery distribution.  He also enjoyed farming.  He was a US Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Alberta Ann Hale Wood; sons, Charles (Ann) Wood of Stanford and Kenny Wood of OH; daughters, Donna Wood of Lancaster and Linda (Kevin) Grider of Lancaster; seven grandchildren: Dennis (Tracy) Wood of Highland, Coby (Laken) Grider of Hustonville, Kristi Grider of Lancaster, Josh Wood of OH, Kent Wood of OH, Travis (Samantha) Wood of Danville, and Casey Wood of Pulaski County; and ten great grandchildren: Tristin, Addison, Ada, Samantha, Kent, Lannie, Taylen, Jake, Wade, and Lexus.

Visitation is 11am-1pm, Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service is 1 pm, Tuesday with Bro. David Gambrel officiating.  Burial is in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Guestbook available at www.wlpruitt.com.
