Wendell L Smith, 84, of Hustonville passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Born in Mt. Salem on October 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Cleo and Wilma Baird Smith.

Wendell was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and cattle. Wendell also liked watching NASCAR, UK Basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds. Most of all Wendell loved spending time with his family.

Wendell is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Jeffries Smith of Hustonville, sons: Bruce (Jill) Smith of Hustonville, Kevin (Gina) Smith of Liberty, and Keith (Rhonda) Smith of Stanford; brothers: Jerry (Brenda) Smith of Mt. Salem and Larry (Betty) Smith of Mt. Salem; grandchildren: Amye Smith, Matthew Smith, Micah (Myla) Smith, Jake (Brooklyn) Smith, Keisha (Jeremy) Coleman, Kelsie (Trae) Whittemore, and Luke Smith; great-grandchildren: Smith Spigle, Teagan Smith, Tatum Smith, Jett Smith, Weslee Coleman, Will Coleman, and Brooks Whittemore.

In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Carol Franklin.

A private service will be held with burial in Hustonville Cemetery.
