Rev. Wayne Watts, 72, of Science Hill passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.  Born March 3, 1952, he was the son of the late Arthur Henry and Thelma Clemons Watts.

Wayne was a retired United Methodist Church minister.  He had served as pastor at Hardwicks Creek, Moreland, Pembroke, Guthrie, Ashland Centenary, Science Hill, Louisa, Albany, and Pine Grove United Methodist Churches.  He enjoyed eating out and could live on chocolate.  Wayne loved to garden, fish, and do carpentry work and was passionate about teaching others these skills.  After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to Branson and Tennessee.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy Watts; son, Michael (Amber) Stewart of Ashland; daughters:  Jennifer (Jeff) Harrison of Stanford, Lisa (Josh) Brown of Hustonville, Becca (Matt) East of Stanford, and Karen (Derek) Hardy-Moore of Somerset; sister, Donna (Rob) McIntosh of Winchester; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Jack.  He was preceded in death by a brother, John Watts.
