Virginia Dare King McFarland, 97, of Danville passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Born September 6, 1923 on Martins Creek in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late James Isaac and Myrtle Goode King.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Rue Oatley McFarland; daughter, Margaret Sandra Richardson; grandchildren, Michael Lewis Richardson and Teresa Gay Richardson; great grandson, Michael Ellis Richardson; brothers, Vernon and Jesse King; and sisters, Nellie Tungate and Irene King.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Craig) Welch of Springfield and Nina (Randy) Gordon of Danville; two sons, Rue (Carolyn) McFarland of Louisville and Gary McFarland of Junction City; sister, Elizabeth Burris of Covington; four grandchildren: Mark (Cheryl) Richardson of Liberty, Sherry McFarland of Moreland, Amy Gordon of Danville, and Adam (Kasey) Gordon of Danville; nine great grandchildren: Mikey (Amy) Richardson of Burgin, Miranda (Joseph) Martindill of Liberty, Matthew (Kari) Richardson of Windsor, Margaret (Matthew) Trowbridge of Liberty, Jessica (Jim) Gossage of Windsor, Josh (Jessica) Richardson of Liberty, Kailey Vinyard of Danville, Connor Miller of Moreland, and Virginia Gordon of Danville; eleven great-great grandchildren: Mackenzie Richardson, Addie Richardson, Mariah (Cody) Atchley, Mason Tyler Richardson, Brogie Richardson, Jake Richardson, Hailey Trowbridge, Hannah Trowbridge, Eli Gossage, Sam Gossage, and Raylan Richardson; one great-great-great grandchild, McCoy Atchley; and special caregivers and friends: Tina Blacklock, Candice Robinson, Florence Connor, Gail Richards, and Little Christian.

Visitation is 11 am-1pm, Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm, Wednesday by Bro. Creech Richardson and Matthew Richardson officiating.
