Thelma Jane Terry Sims, age 83, of Kings Mountain passed from this life and entered Heaven on Friday, May 28, 2021, in Somerset, Kentucky, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born December 27,1937, in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Hugh Reed Terry and Della Hogue Terry.  Thelma was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Wilma Terry who died in infancy, sister, Dencie Riggs, and brothers, Norman Terry and Don Terry.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leamon Osborne Sims, and their four children, Marjorie (Lloyd) Hart of Somerset, Laurie (Jim) Alford of Waynesburg, Lee (Connie) Sims of Waynesburg, and Vincent (Dena) Sims of Missouri; brother, Glen Terry of Indiana, and sisters, Susan Whalen of Michigan and Mary Lou Williams of Stanford; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Thelma was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.   She was a generous, kind-hearted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a retired beautician and enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved to read.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 30 at Locust Grove Baptist Church.  Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m., at Locust Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Sims Cemetery.
