Sidney Earl Coulter, 96, of Moreland passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Born in Mitchellsburg on July 28, 1926, he was the son of the late Thomas Pruitt Coulter and Reva Satterly Coulter. Sidney was a retired Rural Mail Carrier from the United States Postal Service and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Prior to New Hope, he had been a member of Junction City Christian for many years where he served as deacon. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Horse Platoon with the United States Army.
Sidney is survived by 2 sons: Barry (Debbie) Coulter of Parksville and Lanny (Teresa) Coulter of Junction City; 6 grandchildren: Jason (Heather) Coulter, Greg (Amanda) Coulter, Amy (Rodney) Zmak, Crystal Coulter, who was like a daughter to him, Brian (Roxanne) Wade, and Tammy (Darren) Galloway; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers: Thomas Coulter of Nashville, Donald "Ditler" Coulter of Moreland, Franklin David "Rokey" Coulter of Massachusetts, Gary Coulter of South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Sidney was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Frances Coulter; a son, Michael Coulter; a grandson, Timmy Coulter; sisters: Anna Curtis, Doris Stafford, Wilma Adams, Shirley Coulter, and Geraldine Coulter; and brothers: Steve Coulter, Glen Coulter, Billy Coulter, and Harold Coulter.
Per Sidney's request, his wishes for cremation were honored and no services are scheduled.
