Shelba Jean Hogue Edwards, 84, of Junction City passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Born in Danville on March 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Nancy Elizabeth Rice Hogue.
Shelba Jean was a very "classy lady" and loved her clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Her flower gardens were immaculate. She loved to be outside and enjoyed collecting rocks, leaves, and rocking on the front porch. Shelba Jean was very compassionate and had a servant's heart. She was the best cook and often shared her cooking skills with others.
Shelba Jean is survived by her son: David Wayne (Cindy) Edwards of Danville; daughter, Nancy Carol Edwards Love of Junction City; brother, Tony (Marcella) Hogue of Forkland; sisters-in-laws: Marclyn Carey of Danville, Ruth Ann Hogue of Danville, and Loretta Hogue of South Carolina; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jacob) High, Clay (Kristin) Edwards, Morgan (Charles) Day, Gage (Taylor) Camic, Chancey (Stephen) Goble, Emma (Hunter) Rice, Megan Gilliam (Kyle) Lyons, Brandon (Caitlyn) Rogers, and Cherish (Jacob) Duggins; and great-grandchildren, Diesel Humfleet, Case Moore, Eli Edwards, Charlee, Layken, and Tatum Day, Easton Camic, Riley and Johnnie Goble, Stetson Rice, Landon, Beau, Maggie, and Kit Lyons, Cadence, Jackson, and Sawyer Rogers, Tinzlee Brummett, Jaylee Rogers, Janiya, Harlowe, Maxton, and Maylee Duggins; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Shelba Jean was preceded in death by her spouse, David Carroll Edwards; daughter, Kimberly Sue Edwards Gilliam; grandson, Joshua Ryan Gilliam; and brothers: Hugh Marshall, Philip, Carl, and Raymond Hogue, Jr.
Visitation is 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM Thursday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 AM with Bro. Phillip Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Duggins, Jacob High, Brandon Rogers, Beau Lyons, Diesel Humfleet, Gage Camic, Jackson Rogers, and Hunter Rice.
