Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, father, son, and friend, who left this world far too soon. Rowdy Dale King, 45, of Parksville passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025.  Born October 4, 1979, he was the son of Donnie King of Florida and the late Barbara Belcher King.

His story was one of passion, craftsmanship, adventure—and, most of all, transformation. Though his journey ended too soon, his legacy is enduring.

From a very young age, Rowdy was destined to stand out. With a natural gift for sports, he drew the attention of college scouts while still in elementary school.

His gifts extended far beyond athletics. Under the patient guidance of his father, Rowdy developed into an expert woodworking craftsman. He had a unique eye for beauty in reclaimed materials, turning them into stunning furniture and one-of-a-kind pieces that still speak of his vision and heart.

Professionally, Rowdy spent many years renovating homes, and businesses. Also found free time helping others with projects. At Honeywell Rowdy worked alongside his big brother as a field installer of highly complex material handling conveyor systems. This wasn't easy work - but he met the challenges with precision, toughness, and pride. The bond between brothers grew stronger with every mile traveled and every system built - side by side, tackling each job with teamwork and trust.

An adventurer at heart, Rowdy loved the outdoors. He explored the landscapes of the U.S. and Canada, often hiking national parks and forest trails with reverence and wonder. Within the hiking developed a passion for treasure hunting. Rowdy would seek for items that were thought to have been lost to the world. His love for ATVs started early, passed down from his father, and he never lost the thrill of the ride. He shared a special connection with his brothers through a love of firearms.

Above all, he was a father. Though not without its trials, his relationship with his children was rooted in deep love. He gave them more than his time - he gave them life lessons, pieces of himself, and a legacy that lives on in their hearts. Each of his children carries a part of who he was: his strength, his creativity, his fire, and his evolving faith.

But perhaps the most beautiful part of his life story came not in his early years, but in the transformation that unfolded in real time. In his final season, something eternal began to awaken in him. What started as casual conversations became a deep, burning journey of faith. We watched him come alive - his relationship with Christ growing not out of religion, but from personal revelation. He came to realize that he was not defined by his past or his pain, but by the love of a Savior who met him where he was. His spirit began to shift. His words changed. His heart softened. And in that transformation, we witnessed something sacred.

He is no longer with us in body, but we are confident in spirit - he is now fully alive, whole, and held in the arms of the Lord he came to know so intimately in the final stretch of his life.

In addition to his father, Rowdy is survived by 2 sons, Jadem King of Waynesburg and Lincoln King of Stanford; daughter, Kiley King of Lexington; brothers: David (Marisa) Finley of Parksville, Dean Finley of Parksville, Jeff (Laura) Finley of Louisville; and Warren (Johanna) King of FL; and sisters, Donna King of Danville and Debbie Floyd of FL.

Visitation is 5-8 pm, Thursday at Journey Community Church in Stanford and 10-11:30 am, Friday at the church.  His Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 am with Rev Jeff Finley officiating.
