Rodney Joe Russell, 82, of Hustonville passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023. Born June 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Tilden and Mary Qualls Russell.

Rodney worked Maintenance at Friendship House in Danville where he retired after 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, refinishing furniture, and working as a mechanic.  He just liked working with his hands.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda L. Russell; stepdaughter, Mary Edwards of Hustonville; stepson, Charles (Tammy) Lynn of Danville; grandchildren: Rachel Edwards of Liberty, Natalie Edwards of Hustonville, and C.J. (Bridgett) Lynn of Stanford; great-grandsons, Kasen Lynn and Bodie Lynn, both of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Gary, William and Jimmy Russell; sisters, Priscilla Nolan and Carrie Richards; and half sisters: Katherine Hadley, Erma Crews, and Margaret Bernice Russell.

Visitation is 11 am-1 pm, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm, Thursday with Pastor Brad King officiating.  Burial is at Hustonville Cemetery.  Guestbook available at www.wlpruitt.com.
