Robert Kolin "Kokie" Gorley, 70, of Gravel Switch passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Born February 22, 1954, he was the son of Earnestine "Earnie" Wilson Gorley of Junction City and the late Edward Gorley.
He was the father of the late Steven Patrick Gorley and Michelle Phillips; grandfather of Macy Major, Elizabeth Sacco, Andrew Sacco, and Tanner Manley; and the brother of Kay (Jim) Snyder of Louisville, Kelvin (Rita) Gorley of Danville, John Gorley and Arthur Gorley, both of Junction City, Keela Duncan of Moreland, Kimberly (Adam) Brock of Fayetteville, Georgia, and the late Jeffrey K. Gorley and Cheryl K. Reed.
Robert was a 1973 graduate of Boyle County High School where he played football and was a member of FFA.
Kokie was a farmer and long-distance truck driver. He loved traveling the open roads, having driven from east to west coast, and to all the northern and southern states. He hauled everything: cheese, livestock, building materials, and much more. He loved his grandchildren and the mother of his children, Donna Gorley.
Visitation is 5-8 pm, Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ezeriah Gorley officiating. Pallbearers are Andrew Sacco, Tanner Manley, Matthew Vernon, Tyler Reed, Alex Gorley, Austin Gorley, Aaron Gorley, and Brad Walters. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Synder, Jimmy Reed, Adam Brock, Michael Gorley, Ike McCowan, and Charles Coffey. Burial is at Elder Cemetery. A Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
