Robert Gene "Bob" Coontz, 83, of Casey County passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024.  Born March 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Johnie and Ola Anderson Coontz.

Bob was a US Navy veteran.  He was a faithful member of Ellisburg Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. He loved his family and his church family and especially looked forward to attending the monthly men's breakfast.  Bob enjoyed mowing, his tractor, fishing, gardening, growing tomatoes, and planting flower beds.  He never met a stranger, had a terrific sense of humor, and above all just loved to fellowship with others.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Paula Price Coontz; sons, Robert Gene (Rhonda) Coontz, II of Casey County and Mark Coontz of Chattanooga; daughters:  Kim (Danny) Crowe of Chattanooga, Carla (Doug) Coomer of Somerset, Michelle (Scott) Cooke of Chattanooga, and Robyn (Chris) Cook of Danville; sister, Glenda (Zane) Withrow of CA; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Johnie "Buddy" Coontz; sisters:  Ola Coontz, Mary Ann Wray, and Dot Johnson; and a great grandson, Alex Coomer.

Visitation is 5-8 pm, Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home; Funeral Services will be at 11 am, Monday at Ellisburg Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating.  Burial is in Hustonville Cemetery.  A Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com
