Rick
Waldon
Feb 1, 1962 — Jun 3, 2020
Junction City
Richard Douglas "Rick" Waldon, 58, of Junction City passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Born February 1, 1962, he was the son of Janet Mortenson Jones of Idaho and the late Paul Jones.
Rick was a man of many interests and passions. A lifelong entrepreneur and businessman and founder of Pap's Beef Jerkey, he always had an insatiable appetite for taking on the next venture. He was passionate for helping to grow and serve his community, serving as a Chairman on the Danville Chamber of Commerce, Chairman on the Heart of Danville United Way, and perhaps his biggest passion project, he served on the Board of Directors for the KY State BBQ Festival.
The only thing greater than his love for business and BBQ, was the love he had for his family. A true family man in every sense of the word, he was at his happiest when joking with the family. A loving husband, an amazing father, and an incredible grandfather to his army of grandchildren, "Pap" will truly be missed by us all.
Rick had a larger than life personality. He was a true life enthusiast, who always had a smile on his face that was contagious to everyone he came in contact with. Always quick with a joke or to pull a prank, he helped us all lead a life filled with plenty of laughter and great times. A truly great man who will never be forgotten or replaced. Pap was not only a very happy man, he created happiness.
Rick is survived by his wife, Teresa Williams Waldon; sons: Thomas (Christina) Waldon of Frankfort, Andrew Tolman of Nicholasville, and Nick Cornett of Corbin; daughters: Amber (David) Winchester of Junction City and Carlee (Kenny) Kysar of Corbin; brother, Travis (Dashia) Jones of Oregon; and grandchildren: Lukas, Gavin, Nevaeh, Maci, Cymry, Jake, and Kennedy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Laine Stocking.
Visitation will be 2-5 pm, Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be private. A guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com .
