Remilson
Forlevil
d. Mar 4, 2021
Danville
Remilson Forlevil, aged 18 of Danville, KY, died early the morning of March 4, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones following a 10 month battle with cancer.
Remilson was born in the countryside of Haiti. His childhood was spent in the Haitian countryside, in Port-au-Prince, and in Bon Repos. He came to the United States in 2013 for life-saving surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital and returned to Haiti in early 2014. Remilson returned in 2015 to have the surgery repeated. This repeated surgery required extensive follow-up, and he became a permanent resident, enrolled in school, and found a place where he could put his love for soccer to good use.
We are fortunate if we have one family who loves us; Remi had three. In Haiti, he has his father Remy, mother Lezianie, and siblings Wilkens, Maken, Nerla, and Nerlie. In Franklin, Kentucky, he has the Jackson family who brought him to the United States twice for surgery and has remained committed to his wellbeing, Chad & Ann Leslie, Lily, Luke, and Jacob. In Danville, he has Chris & Melinda Morgan with whom he's lived since 2016, along with siblings Michaela (Ben & niece Charlotte), Matteson, Zachary, Alex, and Enrique.
Remilson loved life and valued those God had placed in his. He loved his church families, his soccer teammates, and his classmates. He was a committed soccer player at Franklin-Simpson Middle School, Franklin-Simpson High School, Danville High School, and Central Kentucky Storm. Remi had a deep faith in Christ. His Bible is well worn, his prayers held an elegant simplicity, and his faith did not waver even as disease made normal life progressively more difficult. He loved praise music and played with the worship teams at Franklin First United Methodist Church and Centenary United Methodist Church in Danville. He could fill a room with laughter, and his wisdom and faith had a depth that even adults found unusually insightful.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm ET on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at Centenary UMC in Danville. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm ET on Wednesday, March 10th, also at Centenary UMC. A service of committal will follow on Thursday at 3:30 pm CT in Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Officiating the funeral service will be John Duff, Ann Leslie Jackson, Darren Fielder, and Chris Morgan.
Matteson Morgan, Zachary Morgan, Alex Gutierrez-Jacobs, Enrique Gutierrez-Jacobs, Chad Jackson, and Ben Goodrum will serve as pallbearers. Luke Jackson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home will conduct the services (
