Ray Samuel Tate, 72, of Moreland, KY passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.  Born February 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph Tate and Rebecca Howard Bishop.  Ray was a former mechanic and truck driver.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, gospel music, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Ray Tate and sister, Debbie Bishop.

Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Montgomery Tate; three sons:  Lewis Allen Bishop of Louisville, David Tate of Nicholasville, and Chad Tate of Moreland; two daughters:  Shona (Tim) Royce of Moreland and Tabatha Boyd of Harrodsburg; three sisters:  Diane (Cleve) Bishop of IN, Barbara Manning of Junction City, and Sonya Blankenship of IN; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-8 pm, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be at 11 am, Friday by Bro. Ronnie Lee with burial in Moreland Cemetery.  Pallbearers are David Tate, Chad Tate, Tim Royce, Austin Cunmins, Waylon Tate, and Dylan Tate.  Honorary pallbearer is Dakota Roby.
