Ranzey Edwin Brown, 83, of Geneva passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Born January 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Willie Gabe and Edith Yocum Brown.
Ranzey retired from the Highway Department with the State of Kentucky. He loved to work on cars and ride side-by-sides. He enjoyed trying to fix things.
Ranzey is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Gooch Brown; son, Randy (Tracie) Brown of Geneva; daughter, Kim (David) Carman of McKinney; brother, Cecil Brown of Geneva; sisters: Rosie Johnson of South Fork, Shirley Meadows of Waynesburg, and Frances Brown of Stanford; 4 grandchildren: Derick (Samantha) Moore, Megan (Jerrett) Mason, and Dylan Gabe Brown (Kensly), all of Geneva, and Kimberly Roark (Ethan) of Stanford; 4 great-grandchildren: Sammy, Wade, Parker, and Eli; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 11 AM-1 PM Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Mike Yocum officiating. Burial is at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jack Douglas, Maynard Hoskins, Jimmy Douglas, Jason King, Josh Gerkey, and Travis Wohner. Honorary pallbearers are nieces and nephews.
