Peggy Ann Copley Vanhook, 82 of Mt. Salem passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Born September 27, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Ruby Fair Copley. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Vanhook and two sisters, Nancy Yocum and Betty Smith.
Peggy was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church. She was well known for making beautiful quilts and for babysitting lots of kids.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra VanHook of Mt. Salem; two grandchildren, Shawn Owens of Mt. Salem and Mischa (Todd) George of Mt. Sterling; four great grandchildren: Sydni Spillman of Lexington and Paiton, Justin, and Kaelyn George of Mt. Sterling; one brother, Boyd Hoskins of Casey County; and five sisters: Shirley (Wayne) Caro of Louisville, Bonnie Smith of New Salem, Barbara Sims of Ohio, Brenda Raley of New Salem, and Judy Harris of Salvisa.
Visitation is 5-8 pm, Thursday at W.L Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service is 11 am, Friday with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial is in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Darrell Walls, Travis Wohner, Kasey Walls, Jody Jarrett, Charles Lee Yocum, and Terry Riley. Honorary pallbearers are the great grandchildren.
