Paulene Gilpin Sharp passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Paulene was the devoted wife of the late Randall Sharp. They were married for 53 wonderful years.

She was the beloved mother to John Sharp (Beth Clements) and Joe Sharp (Kim Kohne)/. Her greatest joy was her family, and she took immense pride in her grandchildren—Matthew, Blaine, Savanah, Olivia, and Gracelyn—and her great-grandchildren, Mason and Ledger, who brought so much happiness to her life.

In addition to her husband, Paulene was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Edna (Wilson) Gilpin; her sisters, Geneve, Evalee, and Sue; her brother, Lewis; her twin brother, Paul.

Paulene held a special place in her heart for her nieces, Jeanette Collins, Victoria Timberlake, and Angela Paulene Newberry. She treasured time spent with all her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends who could always count on her warm smile and the unmistakable twinkle in her eye.

She also leaves behind a special caregiver, Peggy Appleby, whose kindness and care meant so much to her, as well as two dear friends, Charlotte Gibson and Bonnie Hogue, who remained close to her heart.

Visitation will be held at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
