Nancy "Nan" Farmer Young, 64, of Danville passed away Monday, July 15, 2024. Born in Danville on October 27, 1959, she was the daughter of Patsy Zippay and stepfather, Dave Zippay, and the late John C. "Jack" Farmer.
Nan was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved and cared for her family and friends deeply and with kindness, a genuine smile, and desire to help.
She lived in Danville and Perryville all her life and was a Danville High School graduate Class of 1977. She had worked for Danville Pediatrics for 35 years where many families recognized her as the person they spoke to when calling for assistance.
Nan was a creative and very talented artist and designer who saw beauty everywhere she looked. She loved traveling through Europe and built a lifetime of memories with those she loved, spending time at her favorite beaches in the U.S.
In addition to her mother and stepfather, she is survived by her children: Ian Young and Blaine Young (Louella); grandchildren: Kira, Jonah, Landry, and Knox Young; her sister, Cassie (John) Zippay, and brother, John Clay (Donna) Farmer; stepsisters: Michelle Zippay, Marla Zippay and Tammy (Kevin) Reid; stepbrother: John Zippay; beloved nieces and nephews: and special niece, Jenni Bohle, and special nephew, Clay Padgett; and many specials friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Marcus Wayne Young, and daughter-in-law, Denise Preston Young.
Nan's funeral service will be held at Perryville Baptist Church by Bro. Rob Kernodle on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ian Young, John Clay Farmer, John Webster, Brian Webster, Ben Webster, Brad Webster, Chris Minor, and Terry Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Ann Wilder Brown, Dixie Minor, Vicki Goode, Susan Smith, Marjorie Dinsmore, Marla Worland, and Peggy Webster.
