Michael Edward Maddox, 67, of Butchertown passed away at his home on Sunday, April 9, 2023, surrounded by his family.  Born June 5, 1955, he was the son of Doris Swearinger Maddox and the late Hurshel Maddox.

Michael enjoyed rabbit hunting, Western television shows, and spending time with his loved ones.  He is a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Stefani Walls (Dave Mangum) of Springfield and her mother, Paula Richards Maddox; his long-time companion, Shirley Bachelor of Butchertown; three granddaughters: Vanessa, Aubrey, and Chloe; great-grandson, Xavier; sisters, JoAnn Terrell and Peggy Appleby, both of Butchertown; brother, Allen (Kathy) Maddox of Harris Creek; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Maddox and niece, Ashley Maddox.

Michael was a wonderful person that had never met a stranger.  His vivacious and giving spirit will be missed by many.  Even though Michael was taken too soon, he lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored him.

Visitation is 11 am-2 pm, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Tony Stephens officiating. Pallbearers are Tim Loveless, Tyler Denham, Ron Harless, Dennis Moore, Henry Richards, and John Richards. Honorary pallbearers are Randall Wilson and Billy Love.  Burial at Butchertown Cemetery.
