Mary Jane Carter, 89, of Stanford passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. Born in Danville on June 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Christian David and Evadney Johanna "Dot" Kellner Driesler.

Mary was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was devoted to her faith. She loved to sew, cook, and bake. Mary made birthday cakes every year for her family. She loved her family and spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons: Gary (Mimi) Carter of Stanford and Bruce (Kim) Carter of Danville; 1 sister, Doris Malady of IN; grandchildren: Christopher (Holly) Carter, Clayton Carter (Emma Martin), and Kristan Carter; great-grandchildren, River Martin, London Carter, Brecken Carter, and Cameron Carter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her spouse of 61 years, Carl Carter and brother, Karl Driesler.

Visitation is 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 PM with Father Edwin Netlas officiating. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Carter, Bruce Carter, Christopher Carter, Clayton Carter, Kristan Carter, Greg Jansen, and Tony Jansen.
