Marjorie Jane Bargo, 89, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023. Born June 29, 1934, in Barbourville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Chester A. Bargo and Sallie B. Messer Bargo.
Marjorie attended Lincoln Memorial University and graduated with a teaching certificate. She also received a master's degree in education from Union College. Margie worked as an elementary teacher and Curriculum Coordinator for over 30 years in several states. She loved playing the piano and organ at home and in church. She was a traveler who loved to visit family and friends. Margie was an avid reader and enjoyed different kinds of puzzles. She wrote poetry and newsletters about her traveling adventures. Margie dedicated much of her life to taking care of family members: her mother, her father, her two brothers, sister, and nephew.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her brothers, William E. Bargo and Chester Allen Bargo, Jr. and sister, Betty Jean Broughton; nephews: Daniel Glen Broughton, Joseph Blake Broughton, and Richard Allen Broughton. Survivors include her nephews: James R. (Kay) Broughton, William Edward (Patricia) Broughton, Ralph Douglas (Louise) Broughton, and Steven Matthew Broughton; niece, Peggy Ann Marion; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
