Marie A. Behr, 82, of Clay, New York passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Kentucky. Born in Utica, NY on August 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Alberico.

Marie was a devoted Catholic receiving the Immaculata Award, a busy volunteer, and loved traveling.

Marie is survived by her children: Mariann (Roger) Hand of NY, James Behr, Jr. of FL, Jeffrey A. (Darcy) Behr of NY, Maria (Robert) George of NY, and Margaret (Timothy) Smith of KY; siblings, Joseph Alberico, Anthony Alberico, Joan Bigelow, and Emily (Paul) Lee, all of NY; aunt, Ermie Lewis of NY; 16 grandchildren: Melissa Reed, Roger Hand III, Emily Hand, Jamie (Ryan) Jenkins, John Behr, Jr., Stephany VanDyke, Gabrielle George, Madeline (Daniel) O'Connor, Robert (Josie) George, Lily George, Josephine George, Joseph Spara, Jessica (Ishaan) Smith Khatri, Marcus Ellis, Cameron Smith, and Logan Smith; many great grandchildren, and other extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Behr; son, John Behr; and brothers: Dan and Nick.

Services will be at St. Francis in Bridgeport, NY on Friday March 13, 2026, with a calling hour at 9 AM and Funeral Mass at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions suggested to your favorite local food pantry.
