Obituary

Lillian Loraine Rice Allender, 75, of Butchertown passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.  Born October 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Essie Thomas Rice.

Lillian was a stay-at-home mom.  She was dedicated to her kids, volunteering at their school and serving as a Girl Scout Leader.  She later worked at ATR prior to earning her nursing degree. As a registered nurse, she worked at Ephriam McDowell in med-surg, in the nursery, and as a night house supervisor.  After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and helping Charlie on the farm. She loved her animals like children, as well as her children's pets.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Charles Allender; daughters, Teresa (Brent) Salyers of Middleburg and Rebecca (Rob) Lynn of Liberty; son, Matthew (Annette) Hardin of IN; stepson, Charles (Julie) Allender, III of Georgetown; 9 grandchildren: Geoffery (Hannah) Lyvers of TN, Cricket Salyers of Lexington, Taylor Judy (Hailey Minks) of Bardstown, Gracie Judy of Moreland, and Spencer, Chloe, Lily, Cora, and Asher Hardin, all of IN; step-grandchildren: Patrick Allender of Lexington and Sophia Lynn and Preston Lynn, both of Liberty; and her best friend, Charlotte Watts of Maxey Valley.  She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery David.

Visitation is 5:30-8:30 pm, Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1pm, Monday with Bro. JR Fields officiating. Pallbearers are Chuck Allender, Matthew Hardin, Geoffery Lyvers, Cricket Salyers, Spencer Hardin, Taylor Judy, and Chloe Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are Gracie Judy, Lily Hardin, Cora Hardin, Asher Hardin, Sophia Lynn, Preston Lynn, and Patrick Allender. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions suggested to any humane society or to the Alzheimer's Association.  A Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
