Lester Frederick Meadows, Jr., 81, of Geneva passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Born July 22, 1942, he was the son of the late Lester F. and Mollie Emily Smith Meadows. Lester retired from Whirlpool/Matsushita. He also drove a school bus for Lincoln County Board of Education. Lester loved to fish and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lester had been a volunteer firefighter for Fire Department Station 4 in McKinney, had served on the McKinney Rescue Squad, and was a member of McKinney Masonic Lodge 631.
Lester is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Mae Brown Meadows; daughters, Anna Mae (Maynard) Hoskins of Geneva and Cheryl Yvonne Shelton of Waynesburg; sister, Mary Katherine Thacker of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren: Stacey (Kris) Clark of Geneva, Rachel (Chad) Sinkhorn of Danville, Caitlin (Aaron) Reese of Waddy, Jessica (Shawn) Taylor of Waynesburg, and Rebecca (Mikey) Sumner of Eubank; and 9 great grandchildren: Olivia Sinkhorn (Preston Barnes), Lexy Clark, Dayson Sinkhorn, Chasity Clark, Kyndall Clark, Lily Mae Sumner, Colby Chase Reese, Lucy Jo Taylor, and Callie Reese; and great grandchild, Isla Rue Barnes. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Patsy Parker, Deloris Naylor, and Margie Fields; brother, Albert Meadows; and son-in-law, Bennie Shelton.
Visitation is 5-8 pm, Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Masonic Service at 7 pm by Masonic Lodge 631.
Funeral is 11 am, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Brothers Kevin Foley, Larry D. Crenshaw, and Ray Burgess officiating. Burial is at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mikey Sumner, Shawn Taylor, Aaron Reese, Chad Sinkhorn, Dayson Sinkhorn, Preston Barnes, Jack Douglas, and Victor Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Kris Clark, Terrill Ware, and Bruce Brown.
