Larry
Lane
Mar 24, 1948 — Apr 23, 2020
Hustonville
Larry Wayne Lane, 72, of Hustonville passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Born March 24, 1948, he was the son of the late William Orval and Nanny Hazel Gillock Lane. He was a farmer, loved to coon hunt with his black and tans, and was a great mechanic. Larry was a member of the Church of the Firstborn in Liberty and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a loving, non-judgmental man of God. Anytime he met a stranger, they left his presence as a new friend. He enjoyed making up and giving special nicknames to his loved ones. Larry could see through a lie like an old screen door. He taught his kids and grandkids how to hunt and to love the Lord.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Billy Lane; brother, Dooley Lane; and nieces, Nanette Elmore and Keisha Lane. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Francis Clark Lane; daughter, Karen Coffman of Hustonville; daughter-in-law, Sondra Lane of Lancaster; brothers: Willis Lane of Hustonville, Bro. Marvin (Jan) Lane of Moreland, Roy Lane of Middleburg, and Marshall Lane of Middleburg; sisters: Sharon (Donald) Elmore of Middleburg, Deanna (Brad) Brock of Hustonville, and Charlotte (Kim) Brown of Middleburg; grandchildren: Larry (Melissa) Cooper of Morgantown, Kendra Singleton (Justin Roberts) of Somerset, Spencer Lane of Lancaster and Cameron Lane of Lancaster; great grandchildren: Luke Sneed, Amelia Cooper, Xavier Jones, and Cayden Jones; and nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19, there will be a graveside service at 2 pm, Tuesday at Hustonville Cemetery ( on speakers) with Bro. Marvin Lane officiating. A drive-by viewing will follow the service. Everyone is encouraged to remain in their vehicles at all times. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Cooper, Spencer Lane, Robert Lane, Phil Lane, Darin Lane, Little Marvin Lane, Kyle Maddox, Sam Lane, Duane Wilham, Justin Roberts, Aaron Brock, Philip Elmore, Robert Singleton, Robbie Adams, Chuck Sheets, Brian Pittman, Cameron Lane, Kendra Singleton "Tater Baby", Dodgie Mullins, Gerald Clark, and Irvin Miller. The family would appreciate all signing the guestbook available at www.wlpruitt.com . The family hopes to have a gathering to honor Larry at a later time when all can "come together" and celebrate his wonderful life.
