Larry Eugene Downs, 65, of Moreland passed away at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2024.  Born June 10, 1959, he was the son of Carolyn Downs of Danville and the late James Downs.  In addition to his dad, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Downs.

Larry was a self-employed contractor.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids.  He was the best example of a grandparent that you would ever meet.  He was the kind of friend everyone would want to have and be like.  Larry was a kind, humble, and simple man that never realized how much he meant to others.

Larry is survived by his 2 sons, Chad (Crystal) Downs of Richmond and Bradley (Brandi) Downs of Mt. Sterling; his best friend, Sharon Snow of Moreland, and her children, Jassen (Haley) Snow of Moreland and Kayla (Zack) Benedict of Danville; sisters:  Jean Downs of Danville, Jamie Downs of Mt. Vernon, and Barbara (Tike) Clark of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren: Taylor, Lexi, Kaylee, Jackson, Emma, Hunter, Avery, Maddison, Courtney, Kylee, Blayton, Kassen, Noah, Ellisyn, and Raelynn; and 1 great-grandchild, Rhoman.

Visitation is 5-8 pm Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service is at 12:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with burial at Danville Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers are Courtney Snow, Bradley Downs, Zack Benedict, Dave Terry, Mike Reynolds, Jassen Snow, and Chad Downs.
