Josephine McKamey Shearin Ballinger, 84, of Danville, ran into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born in Jacktown on March 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ernestine McKamey Shearin.

Josephine attended Hedgeville Baptist Church. She worked for over 20 years at Cracker Barrel. Josephine loved her family and spending time with her granddaughter, Charli.

Josephine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susette and Wayne Watts of Danville; sisters: Gwen Kearney of Liberty, Beverly (Bill) Peyton of Hustonville, and Peggy Antle of Elizabethtown; and a granddaughter, Charli Watts of Danville.

In addition to her parents, Josphine was preceded in death by her husbands: Kenneth Gene Fisher and Raymond Anderson Ballinger; a brother: Earl Shearin, Jr., and a sister, Winona Shearin.

Visitation is 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Monday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jonathan Grizzell officiating. Burial will follow in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charli Watts, Jonathan Croley, Bob Campbell, Zach Morgan, Terry Wilson, Richard Kearney, and Wayne Watts.
