John Thomas "JT" Rice, 97, of Danville passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023.  Born May 29, 1925, he was the son of the late John Jackson and Julia Southerland Rice.

JT was a WWII US Army veteran and a recipient of a bronze star.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Dean Wilson Rice; daughter-in-law, Judy Rice; and 17 siblings.  Survivors include his three sons: Larry (Flo) Rice of Danville, Darrell Rice of Junction City, and Timmy Rice of Danville; five grandchildren: Shawn (Melissa) Rice of Stanford, Megan (Keith) Cash of Hustonville, Serticia Snyder of Junction City, Timothy J. (Melanie) Rice of Harrodsburg, and Kellie (Eric) Schaub of Cincinnati, OH; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-8 pm, Monday, March 6, 2023, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Tuesday at the funeral Home.  Burial is in Junction City Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 18.  Pallbearers are Shawn Rice, Keith Cash, Kegan Cash, Frank Sheene, Randy Ledford, and Mitch Ellis.
