Joel Richard "Joe" Taylor, 86, of Hustonville passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024.  Born June 3, 1937, he was the son of the late William Edward and Sadie Ellen Wilson Taylor.

Joel loved life to the fullest!  He never met a stranger in his 86 years of life.  His favorite thing to do was to fish with his girls. He would grin from ear to ear when one of them caught a big one.  He hated the ones that got away though!

Joel worked as a manager or in groceries most of his life, but he truly loved the land and wanted to farm.  He raised cattle and had a large garden after he retired.  That's a bad word, as he never retired.  He sold produce so he could see his neighbors, friends, and family.  He was always there to lend a helping hand.  The only true riches in Joel's life were his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Joel was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ada Maddox Taylor.  He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (William Edward) Montague of Ludlow, KY and Susan Taylor of Taylor Mill, KY; and a grandson, Richard Thomas (Brittney) Montague of Ludlow, KY.

Visitation is 5-8 pm, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be at 1 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Todd Maddox, Steve Lynn, Tim Lynn, Bill Davis, Les Rousey, Lance Correll, Harmon Beaty, and Steve Correll.  Honorary pallbearers are Steve Bailey, Larry Benedict, Kenneth Traylor, and Bruce Johnson.  The burial will be at Hustonville Cemetery.  A Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
