James "Jimmy" Allen Brown, 85, of Stanford passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Born in Danville on May 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Owen Wesley and Neal Hester Murphy Brown.

Jimmy worked as the manager of Clark Oil for over 30 years. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. Jimmy liked to ride motorcycles and was an avid horseshoe pitcher.

Jimmy is survived by his son: Jim (Candi) Brown of Harrodsburg; daughter, Janet Johnson of Stanford; sister-in-law, Shirley Brown of Danville; grandchildren: Jason Brown, Clay Brown, Maegan (Rodney) Braymer, Mitzi Johnson, and Jessica (Anthony) Bustos; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Ann Mobley Brown; brother, Charlie Brown; sister, Peggy Campbell; and brother-in-law, Sonny Campbell.

Visitation is 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM, Monday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.
