Herlin Atwood, 87, of Junction City passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his home.  Born February 5, 1934, in Liberty, KY, he was the son of the late Estel and Lina Whited Atwood.

Herlin married the love of his life, Barbara Toombs, February 6, 1959, after serving in the US Army. Herlin drove a truck for 40 years before retiring to pursue his real passion, golf.  He and Barbara owned and operated Atwood's Driving Range for nearly 30 years.  He truly loved visiting with his customers and breaking away for his weekly golf rounds with his friends.

Herlin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Atwood; sons, Stuart Atwood (Kimberly Keller) of Louisville and Jeffrey (Laurel) Atwood of St. Louis; brothers: Wayne (Louise) Atwood of Moreland, Donald (Shirley) Atwood of Moreland, Alvie (Betty) Atwood of Stanford, and Bobby (Rachel) Atwood of Stanford; sister, Emile (Bill) Duke of Danville; four grandchildren: Logan (Dan) Huff of Lexington, Peyton Atwood of Lexington, Ryan Atwood and Reese Atwood, both of St. Louis; and great granddaughter, Palmer Huff.
