Helen Marie Rothwell Simpson, 100, of Stanford passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Born February 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Thomas Rothwell and Jewell Edna McCowan Rothwell Rice.

Helen retired from Palm Beach after 37 and a half years.  She owned farms and rental houses. Helen loved to raise flowers, garden, animals, and farming.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Imogene Asbery of Stanford; sister, Eloise King of Danville; 3 grandchildren: Maurice Leroy Asbery of Hustonville, Dr. David Scott (Kathy) Asbery of Illinois, and Deonica Dawn (Scott) Asbery of Lancaster; 9 great grandchildren: Kevin Asbery of Hustonville, T.J. Asbery of Hustonville, Amanda (Russell) Jones of Liberty, Kadin Asbery of Washington, DC, Cullen Asbery of IL, Laim Asbery of IL, Elliana Asbery of IL, Abby (Noah) Stone of Mt. Vernon, and John Robert Asbery of Lancaster; 2 great-great grandchildren, Tucker and Elijah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Alsman; brothers: Charles Rothwell, Kenneth Rothwell, and Eddie Rothwell; son-in-law, Leroy Asbery, and a great-great grandson, Maverick Asbery.

Visitation is 12-2 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2024, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 2 pm officiated by Rev. David Smith with burial at Hustonville Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Kevin Asbery, Travis Asbery, John Robert Asbery, Kaden Asbery, Cullen Asbery, and Liam Asbery, Honorary pallbearers are Abby Stone, Amanda Jones, Scotty Asbery, and Noah Stone.
