Obituary

Harry Lee Pass, 84, of Stanford was born on November 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Cam and Lassie Lamance Pass.

For anyone who knows Harry, he did it his way, peacefully passing away at home on November 11, 2020. While he will be remembered for many things, perhaps the most notable were his generosity and strength of spirit. Always quick to offer a helping hand and advice, he was loved by all.

His passion for story-telling and captivating his audience with humorous stories about the past gave he and others so much joy. People came from far and wide to visit Harry and be in his company.

An avid sportsman, his love of hunting and fishing were an important part of his enjoyment of life. While not known by many, he was an entrepreneur and inventor. He owned a successful painting business and invented a mechanical part which his employer of 50 years, Corning Glass, patented and used to develop new products. He had a unique, outside-the-box approach to solving problems and getting things done.

Harry believed in hard work and devotion to family. He was a teacher, mentor, counselor, brother, father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He taught everyone to fish — so they'd never be hungry in life.

In his own words, a final farewell: "Thank you for calling."

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Janelle Smith Pass and by his brothers: Duck, Ronnie, Kenneth, Riley, and Darrell. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Presley; grandchildren: Matthew Presley of Indiana and Joshua Presley of Moreland; great grandchildren:  Adela Presley, Avery Presley, and Piper Presley-Bell; brothers:  Jerry Pass of Lexington and Robert Pass of Lancaster; and sisters: Mary Cloyd of Stanford and Loretta Burchett of Junction City.
