Hallie Jean Gaines Romero, 75, of Danville passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at UK Hospital. She was born on December 24, 1949, in Danville to the late Howard and Ruby W. Crawford Gaines.

Hallie Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

A kind and loving person, Hallie Jean was known for her warmth and generosity, always putting her loved ones first. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also a steadfast sister and cherished friend to many.

Hallie Jean will be remembered for her incredible spirit, her laughter, and her unwavering support of those she loved. Whether through shared memories, heartfelt conversations, or acts of kindness, she touched the lives of all who knew her.

Hallie Jean is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Antonio Romero; her children: Dionne (David) Slugantz, Linda (Marty) Hatter, and Micki (Anthony) Lee; and her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Tommy (Jenny) Gaines, and sister Barbara (Bobby) Sheperson, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Hallie Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Crawford "HC" Gaines, and a sister, Patricia Pelkonen.

A Celebration of Hallie Jean's life will be held at W.L. Pruitt Funeral in Moreland Ky on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Joshua Gaines officiating. Burial to follow at Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday December 31, 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Brett Hatter, Ryan Lee, Dylan Smith, Cody Lee, Aaron Hatter, and Trey Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be her granddaughter, Brandi Lee.

Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering her and sharing stories of her remarkable life.

Hallie Jean will forever be missed, but her love and memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her
