Guy Edgar Coontz, 65, of Danville passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.  Born January 17, 1958, he was the son of Margaret Lee Coontz and the late Robert Wesley Coontz.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Noel Coontz; brothers, Billy Coontz and Robert Wesley Coontz, Jr. and sisters, Shirley Coontz and Linda Coontz.

Guy loved fishing, working on cars, his family, and helping others.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers:  Donald (Janice) Coontz of Hustonville, Charles (Patsy) Byrd of TN, and Dannie Coontz of Moreland; nieces and nephews: Chris (Erica) Russell of Danville, Leslie Lay of Danville, Justin King of Bardstown,  Amy Snow of Danville, Robert (Thauana) Lane of Brodhead, Amanda (Eddie) Hasty of Junction City, Rhonda (Derrick) Cooley of Hustonville, Michael Coontz of Hustonville, Bobby Coontz of Moreland, Brian Coontz of Moreland, Gary Coontz of Moreland, Sherry (Joey) Smith of Danville, Shawn Keith of Hustonville, and Ricky Hale of Nicholasville; and his sisters-in-law, Angie Russell, Dereatha Lane, Kim (Joe) King and Cecilia Teater.

Visitation is 10am-12pm, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will follow at 12pm with Bro. Jody Coontz officiating. Pallbearers are Derrick Cooley, Harley Davis, Ralph Woods, Chris Russell, Joseph Lay, Jacob Lay, Robert Snow, and Robert Lane.  Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Hasty, Justin King, Matthew Coontz, and Travis Lane.
