Gary Eugene "Doc" Rothwell, 68, of Moreland passed away Monday, May 12, 2025. Born on June 4, 1956, in Danville, he was the son of the late Kenneth Eugene and Ethel Louise Wright Rothwell.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Rothwell.

Doc was an electrician and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by 2 sons: Jack (Brittney) Broom of Stanford and Chad Broom of Texas; nephew: Gary Wayne (Rebecca) Rothwell of Hustonville; brother: Kenny Rothwell of Moreland; sister: Robin (Mike) Allison of California; 2 grandchildren: Hagan Broom and Isabelle Roach; and 3 great-nieces: Jayde, Dakota, and Susan Rothwell.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2025, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Stacy Wilson officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Broom, Gary Wayne Rothwell, Steve Southerland, Jimmy Ellis, Keith Rothwell, and Tim Curtsinger. Willis Lane will be an honorary pallbearer.
