Frieda Merlon Richards Martin, 71, of Stanford passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020.  Born August 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Helen Marie Traylor Richards.

Frieda loved farming, her family and spending time with her grandkids.  She never met a stranger.

Frieda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Newland Martin of Stanford; son, Robert Newland "Bob" (Courtney) Martin of Stanford; brothers:  Ken (Gail) Richards, John (Brenda) Richards, and Henry Richards, all of Hustonville; sisters:  Nancy Clark of Ohio, Connie Greene of Stanford, Paula Maddox of Crab Orchard, and Lois Jean Richards of Corbin; and grandchildren:  Jacob, Carter, Natalie, and Owen Martin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: William Eugene "Gene" Richards, Ivan Harold Richards, and Edgar H. "Jack" Richards.

Visitation is 6-8 pm, Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Services will be at 12:30 pm, Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Coppings officiating.  Burial is in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.  Pallbearers are John Richards, Edgar Richards, Jacob Spears, Danny Terrell, Jacob Martin, and Joey Peyton.
