Margaret Evelyn (Edwards) Russell, 94, of Hustonville, KY went to her heavenly home on April 5, 2026.

Born April 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Archie Lee Edwards and Sally Mae (Adams) Edwards. She was the eldest of nine children and there are endless stories between them all.

She was united in marriage to Clay Gilbert Russell on November 4, 1954, and they shared 65 loving years together before his passing. She was a devoted and steadfast wife to Gil, faithfully following him around the world during his more than 21 years of service in the United States Air Force.

She gave her all to her four sons-Tom, Doug, Dennis, and Barry-and was a devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Danville.

Evelyn was an avid reader, especially enjoying novels by Danielle Steel and Nora Roberts. She loved cooking for her family and was known for preparing full, hearty meals-even when no one was hungry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her son, Thomas Shelton Russell; and sisters: Naomi, Elizabeth, and Geneva.

She is survived by three sons: Doug Russell of Hustonville, Dennis (Sandy) Russell of Newburgh, IN, and Barry Russell of Hustonville, KY; two grandchildren, Sarah Russell of Calhoun, KY and Drew (Cassie) Russell of Newburgh, IN; five great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Amelia, Deacon, Katherine, and Oliver; two brothers: Archie Robert (Linda) Edwards of Louisville and Chester Lee Edwards of Clementsville; four sisters: Janie Rogers of Liberty, Priscilla Adams of Indiana, Lola Dean (Louis) Foster of Bethelridge, and Patricia Vaught of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

Her faith was her foundation, and her love will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

Visitation will be held at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland, KY from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday April 10, 2026. Visitation on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00am-11:00am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Danville with funeral following at 11:00am. Interment will be at Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Edwards, Drew Russell, Blake Goldberg, Dean Oser, and Chester Edwards. Honorary Pallbearer is Deacon Russell.
