Ada Evelyn Ellis Peyton, 95, of Liberty passed away at Casey County Hospital on Sunday, October 20, 2024.  Born April 17, 1929, in the Ellisburg Community, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Margaret Qualls Ellis.

Evelyn enjoyed eating out and seeing friends at The Village Restaurant and the Bread of Life Café, working puzzle books like word search, reading novels about Kentucky history and inspirationals like the Upper Room and Guideposts, and cooking.  When she was younger, she loved to paint, especially on rocks.  She was a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.

Evelyn is survived by a son, James L. Peyton of Nicholasville; granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Peyton of Lexington; and great-grandchildren, Alex Jordan Peyton and Gabrielle Gaines; and nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard L. Peyton, Jr.; son, Steven Clay Peyton; brother, James Robert Ellis; sisters: Ruby Reed, Katherine Leigh, Irene Lutterman, Cora Mae McWhorter, Pina Faye Nutgrass, and Nannie Lee Atwood.

Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be at 11 am Friday with visitation after 10 am Friday.  Burial is at Danville Memorial Gardens.
