Erna Gieslea Matthes McGirr, 93, of Danville passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020.  Born May 23, 1927 in Mannheim, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ernst and Babette Rhein Matthes.

Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" McGirr; two sons, Dale and Michael McGirr; and sisters: Irmgard Englehardt and Charlotte Matthes. She is survived by four children: Denice McGirr of Lexington, Angela McGirr of Lexington, Curtis McGirr of Texas and Maurice McGirr of Texas; brother, Heinrich Matthes of Germany; and caregivers, Tommy and Mickey McGirr of Junction City.

Honoring Erna's wishes, no services are scheduled.
