Elsie Marie Sears Kidd, 82, of Danville passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home.  Born June 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joe Sears and Mary Johnson Griffin.

Elsie was a member of Refreshing Ministries in Moreland. She was a loving, caring lady who adored her family and friends. Elsie enjoyed singing.

Survivors include her husband Charles David Kidd, married 34 years and together 47 years, daughters: Nancy Marie Downs of Hustonville and Elsie (Brandon) Gamble of Danville; sons, Charles Chester (Melissa) Downs of Danville, Sheryl (Debbie) Downs of Perryville, Gerald (Angie) Downs of Danville, and Joseph Kidd of Lancaster; 29 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren; and her favorite cat, Chi Chi.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Spears; first husband, Charles Downs; brothers: Dawson, Hubert, and Lee; sisters: Eva, Ruby, Mary, Nellie, Tootie, and Mildred; a granddaughter, Pricilla; and daughter in law, Michelle.

Visitation is 11:00am-1:00pm, Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Charles Chester Downs officiating. Burial will be at Moreland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rickey Crawley, Sheryl Downs, Nathan Measel, Gerald Downs, Little Gerald Downs, Brandon Gamble, and Chris Leedom.
