Virgie Elaine "Granny" Sears Adams, 85, of Waynesburg passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023.  Born March 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lorraine Benedict Sears.

She loved to quilt, travel places, garden, and work in her flower beds.  Elaine, known only as Granny, loved her kids and grandkids.  She enjoyed old gospel hymns, especially when sung by Loretta Lynn and Roy Acuff.  She had most recently attended Parlor Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her 7 daughters:  Rita Sallee of Danville, Jo Ann (Johnny) Robbins of Waynesburg, Kathy (Randy) Caudill of Pulaski County, Brenda (Dennis) Russell of IN, Tina (Kevin) Posey of Waynesburg, Donna (Douglas) Lee of Lexington, and Rosemary Adams of Columbia; 2 sons, Johnny (Kathy) Crowe of Liberty and Charlie Crowe of Waynesburg; 2 brothers, Phillip Sears and Paul (Alma) Sears, both of Junction City; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Adams; 5 brothers: Wilbert, Joseph, Delbert, Red, and Buck Sears and a grandchild, Frazier Adams.

Visitation is 11am-1pm, Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm, with Bro. Greg Lockard officiating.  Pallbearers are grandsons: Adam Greer, Cody Crowe, Quentin Robbins, Matthew Conder, Brandon Russell, Dallas Russell, Randall Hancock, and James Russell.  Burial is at Moreland Cemetery.
