Edward M "Smiley" Thompson, 68, of Hustonville passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026. Born in Hammond, Indiana on February 27, 1958, he was the son of the late Frank and Emma Worthington Thompson.

Edward is survived by his children: April Thomspon, Frankie Thompson, Eddie Thomspon and their mother, Barbara Thompson, all of Indiana; twin sisters: Brenda Gipson and Gail Pease; stepson, Marcus (Ruby) Brown of Indiana; grandchildren: Destiny Thompson, Autumn Culver, Raymond Green, Isaiah Thompson, Emily Thompson, Frank Thompson, Isaiah Hubbird, Monique Hubbird, Brandon Hubbird, Kaleb Brown and Leia Thompson; and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his son, Travis Thomspon; companion, Darlene Tipton Mauldin; brothers: Mitchell and Ed Thompson; and sister Carolyn Thompson.
