Earl Eugene Petty, 83, of Middleburg passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022.  Born November 9, 1938, in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Clyde and Edna Propst Petty.  Earl loved dancing and music, especially music from the 50's. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.  He embraced life and really enjoyed being with people.  Before moving to Kentucky, he had worked for the City of Fairfax, Virginia in the Water Treatment Plant.  He was a US Army veteran and served during the Cuban Crisis.

Earl is survived by 3 children:  Brian (Erin) Petty, Ellen Roberts, and Noreen (Robert) Gannon, all of Virginia; 1 brother, Edgar (Elsie) Petty of Virginia; and two sisters, Ethel Bohin and Evelyn (Clif) Jones, both of Maryland; 4 grandchildren:  Jonathan Gannon, Charlie Gannon, Alexandra Petty, and Carson Petty, all of Virginia; and his companion of over ten years, Paula Godbey.  A guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com .
