Dorothy "Dot" Margaret True, 95, of Hustonville passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Born in Liberty on November 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Mary Nancy Redford and Mitchell Wilson.
Dorothy was a devout Catholic who loved God, her church, and her family dearly. She enjoyed painting, dancing, and playing WaHoo! She was loved by many and will live on in their hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Sharon True Gordon of Stanford, Yvonne (Phillip) Hafley of Moreland, Stephen (Lecia) True of Moreland, and Kimberly Ann (Bruce) Carter of Danville; sister: Lana Marie (William "Bugg") Knight of Columbia; brother-in-law, Donald Upchurch; daughter-in-law, Middy True; grandchildren: Trina (Michael) Bennett of TX, Allison Torani of Moreland, Aaron Kyle Hafley of Moreland, Kasey Hafley of Elizabethtown, LaShauna Gordon of Moreland, Chyvonna Gordon of Stanford, Brittany (Randall) Emmons of Danville, DeLaura Asberry of Moreland, Jonathan (Shanna) True of Junction City, Clayton Carter (Emma Martin) of Moreland, Kristan Carter of Danville, Courtney (Blake) Walker of Stanford, Vance N. (Tatum) True of CO, Devin (Jasmine) True of UT, Jason (Amber) Elbert of Louisville; great-grandchildren: Ashleigh (Enrique) Orellana, Hayleigh Bennett, Mia Torani, Michael Torani, Ayden Hafley, Blake Hafley, Ryan Hafley, Sean Emmons, Sophia Emmons, Karter Emmons, Silas Asberry, Scarlett True, River Martin, Cameron Carter, Novah Walker, Hudson Walker, Chloe Elbert, and Cash True; and great-great child, Myles Orellana.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved ex-husband and the father of her children, Dr. Elmer F. True, her son Dr. Vance Nelson True, her brother, Jason Wilson, and her sister, Johanna Upchurch.
Visitation is 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM with Father Danny Schwendeman. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery at 3:00pm.
