Obituary

Donald “Donnie” Bruce Coffman, Sr., 77, of Junction City passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born in Danville on February 20, 1949, he was the son of the late William Archie Coffman, Sr. and Sara Ellen Robertson Coffman.

Donnie dedicated 50 years to professional photography, capturing countless memories for families and sports teams throughout the community. His talent behind the camera allowed him to preserve special moments and milestones for generations of families and athletes.

Donnie was a man of many talents and interests. He served as a racetrack announcer, bringing his enthusiasm and personality to the track. He also worked as a barber, drove a school bus for Boyle County Schools, served his community as a Boyle County Magistrate for District 2 and loved playing Santa for the community.

Through each of these roles, Donnie became a familiar and valued face to many people. Whether he was behind his camera, behind the microphone, or serving his community, he made an impact on the lives of those around him. Above all, Donnie will be remembered for his love and devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren and for the many memories he created with those he loved.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon Powell Coffman of Junction City; sons: Bruce (Beth Curtsinger) Coffman of Junction City, Brian (Debbie) Coffman of Danville, and Todd (Brittany) Coffman of Junction City; daughters: Janae Coffman and Erin Coffman, both of Junction City; sister, Patricia McGuire of Junction City; grandchildren: Lacey, Lauren, Jayce, Jadyn, Blake (Becca), Brayden, Austin, and Bodhi Coffman, and Mia West; great-grandchildren: Cutter, Carter, Kamden, Mela, Kaisyn, Acelyn, and Golden.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, William Archie Coffman, Jr. and sisters: Jewel Baker and Maxie Gilmer. Visitation is 5:00pm-9:00pm, Sunday, October 11, 2026, and Monday, October 12, 2026, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Junction City First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be Monday, October 12, 2026, at 1:00pm with Bro. Barry Harmon. Burial will follow in Junction City Cemetery.
