David James Towrey, Sr., 57, of Monticello passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Lincolnton, NC on February 12, 1968, to Glenn Towrey and the late Judy Helton Cassell.

He was known by many for working on their vehicles as an auto mechanic and helping loggers many of which preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Lendy McCrary Towrey; 3 sons: Brad and Bryan Bilbry and David Towrey Jr..; and 4 grandsons: Brair Bolen Kater Simpson, Castle Towe, Billy Bilbry, and Adrianna Athena.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Peter Andrew Towrey, Lee Warlick, and Rodney Cassell.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
