Charles Lee Yates, 78, of Stanford passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021. Born in Lincoln Co. on May 5, 1942, he was the son of the late Gertrude Kennedy Yates and Charles Yates. He owned and operated Yates Trucking for many years.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Moreland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shelia Dishon Yates, of Stanford, his daughter, Tammy Lee Yates, of Lexington, two sisters:  Sally Dean King and Betty Sue (James) Stogsdill, both of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Freddie Gene Yates, and his sister, Barbara Ann Greer.
