Charles Lee "Charlie" or "Kayo" Owens, 80, of Junction City passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Born October 2, 1939, he was the son of the late Louis Owens and Ora Brown Lynch. He was a US Navy veteran and a Masonic member of Franklin Lodge 28. He was also a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Owens of Junction City; daughters, Becky (Virgil) Cook of Junction City and Kathy O. Motley of Louisville; son, David (Marlena) Owens of Lawrenceburg; 12 grandchildren: Melissa, David Lee, Louis Lee, Landon, Katie, Stasha, Ricky, Amanda, Patrick, Aaron, Joshua, and John Thomas; and 20 great grandchildren: Ashton, McKenzie, Abigail, Kayla, Alex, Aubrey, Luke, Lacey, Knox, Evan, Aubree, Blakelynn, Jayce, Chase, Cameron, Kristen, Avery, Noah, Tailor, and Jackson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Wayne; sisters: Joey June, Wanda Lou and "Sissie"; and 3 grandsons: Adam, Austin, and David.
Visitation is 5-8 pm, Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Donald Lear. Burial is in Junction City Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 18 and US Navy Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Bobby Lee Wilson, Virgil Cook, Chad Shearer, David Owens, John Thomas Daddona, Joshua Daddona, Alex Cook, and Jackson McClure. Honorary pallbearers are Becky Cook, Kathy Motley, Melissa Owens, Patrick Wilson, Mandy Lane, Aaron East, and Ricky Lane.
