Cecil Laudell "Bird" Pitman, 79, of Hustonville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation. Born in Albany, Kentucky on November 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rema Pitman.

Cecil was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Joe Pitman, and a nephew, Joseph James "J.J." Pitman.

Cecil loved his children, family, and friends. He loved sitting on the porch and watching the sunsets, riding his Harley, and reading. Cecil was a skilled woodworker and craftsman. He always put others before himself. Cecil had many friends he loved and cared for dearly, including former employer, Danny Preston, who visited him frequently during his illness and his long-time companion, Patricia "Pat" Wilcher.

Cecil was survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Chad) Harvey of Cookeville, Tennessee and Kimberly McCormick (George Adams) of Cambridge City, Indiana; one grandchild, Cody McCormick of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister, Denise (Albert) Hyden of Straughn, Indiana; uncles: Richard (Gene) Matthews and Carl Matthews, both of Albany, Kentucky; aunt, Doris (Harold)  Hall of London, Kentucky; a great nephew, Thor Pitman of New Castle, Indiana; and several cousins.

Honoring his wishes, no public services will be held.
